Up-to-Date Municipal and Township Data

First American is one of the few solution providers that own and maintain its own Municipal Boundary data files.  With a staff dedicated to the ongoing research involved in tracking annexation and de-annexation changes, the database is continuously maintained for accurate results. Containing state, county and township level information for all 50 U.S. states, the Township database consists of continuous polygonal townships with boundaries that are aligned to NAVTEQ County Boundary data.

National Elevation, Slope & Aspect Data First American provides a national elevation, slope and aspect database at a 10-meter grid granularity.  Understanding the elevation and slope and the direction the slope faces (aspect) are essential components when trying to understand the placement and underlying risk of assets.  Regularly updated utilizing both public and private data, proprietary algorithms caculate the slope and aspect, First American enhances it's parcel and property data with these key factors to help our customers have a complete picture of their land-based resources.

 

 

 

Fire Station

Annually Updated Fire Station Data

Knowing where a homeowner's property is in relation to a fire station helps insurance companies determine its fire ranking. First American's Fire Stations & Response Areas database is a compilation of fire station locations and fire response areas that have been incorporated into a standardized national digital database that is updated annually.

Compiling federal, state, local and commercial sources, fire station locations were verified using First American's parcel-level geocoding and spatial technologies, highly accurate road network data, high-resolution aerial photography, on-site visits, and personal contact surveys.  Fire response areas are based on county and municipal boundaries as well as fire district boundaries gathered directly from local sources in each state.

First American's database also provides other valuable information such as the type of district (which indicates whether a station is full time, voluntary or both), the distance of the nearest station from a property, and the geographic coordinates of each fire station.

Update Schedule

First American regularly updates its databases with current public and privately sourced data.  Data can be licensed in shapefile format for use in your GIS system or can be utilized with our software solutions and online applications.
